Santa Clara Pueblo Review
Santa Clara Pueblo, southwest of Española, is the home of a historic treasure—the awesome Puyé Cliff Dwellings, believed to have been built in the 13th to 14th centuries. They can be seen by driving 9 mi up a gravel road through a canyon, south of the village off NM 502. You can tour the cliff dwellings, topped by the ruins of a 740-room pueblo, on your own or with a guide—several special tours are available for additional fees. Pay your entrance fees and arrange for tours at the Puyé Cliffs Welcome Center, at the Valero gas station on the corner of NM 30 and Puyé Cliffs Road.
