Le Vieux Castillon Review

A wonderfully romantic getaway just up the road from the Rive Gauche of the Pont du Gard, this medieval hotel is made up of several restored houses, and has sweeping views of the Ventoux valley as well as rooms styled in a variety of tasteful themes, from Egyptian to Provençal. All have spacious and modern bathrooms. The honey-color stone terraces and views further enhance chef Gilles Dauteuil's inventive and rich cooking, one of the highlights of which is local lamb roasted in garlic. The wine list is extensive; especially the Rhône Valley selection, and the cheeses are excellent.
