Résidence Review

Set in a picturesque 16th-century house in the heart of town, with a rather cutting-edge restaurant on the ground floor and a young and friendly staff, this option has several strong pluses. The cheapest rooms are pretty basic—both the bathroom and the shower are in the hallway—but the more expensive have in-room bathrooms, and one even has a hot tub. The service is friendly; the staff energetic. The brasserie-type restaurant on the ground floor, La Salamandre, uses products that are certified organic, farm-raised, and homemade, from the vegetable terrine to the nougat ice cream. In winter a fire crackles in the hearth.
