Resort living through Interval International

Has anyone used a timeshare week in Hawaii at one of the member resorts? If so, how was your stay? I have an interest in Maui, and see that there are a few 5-Star resorts available. Thanks.

I suggest you ask this question on the Timeshare Users Group BBS at www.tug2.net This is a BBS that is run by and for T/S owners, users and people who want to know about ownership. Very knowledgeable timeshare owners there.

In answer to your question..yes, we have stayed in a couple of II's resorts and found they were very nice..but it's been awhile since we belong just to RCI now. Hawaii is hard to exchange into because they aren't overloaded with t/s. Anyone can register and use TUG, but you must be a member to access their 'members only' sections..like reviews of resorts done by those of us who stay there.

We exchanged into the Kauai Beach Club (Marriott) through II this December. We were VERY, VERY lucky to get this exchange. Don't expect to stay in Marriott's, especially in the summer, or peak vacation times (Easter or December holidays) unless you arev trading in with a Marriott or a very strong trader. In general, five star resorts require five star home resorts as exchanges. I second the rec to join TUG - there is a wealth of timeshare info there.

Our first exchange from our Caribbean Timeshare was into Maui and am now finding that we were very lucky to get it. We have since bought in Maui and are not sorry we did although I wish I had known about the Timehsare User Group before I bought. I agree that Maui is VERY hard to trade in to. I had a year banked from the Caribbean and tried have tried to get a suitable week in Maui for over a year. Couldn't do it and am now paying for my second week. Still a small price to pay for paradise.

We have stayed at Kona Coast Resort on the Big Island a couple of times. The units are very luxurious and we really enjoyed the resort, but it is not on a beach...golf course and cliffs down to the ocean, and no real ocean view. There is a great little beach a half mile or so away with good snorkeling. It is an easier resort to get because it is so huge (and not on Maui!). We have also stayed at the Marriott Kaui...very beautiful resort on a great beach, but a hard to get trade.

We have traded into Maui Beach Vacation Club (not extremely happy with the location) but just happy to be in Maui. The resort was fine for us. Last year we traded into Cliffs Club at Princeville, Kauai. Loved the location. Neither of the resorts are directly on the beach if that is important. We went in April both times.
