Prince Kuhio condo in Po'ipu
I'd like to hear from anyone who has recent experience with Prince Kuhio condos. We are very much on a budget, and want a clean comfortable place, not looking for luxury. Some of the studio units here are $75 a night which seems quite reasonable. I realize there is no oceanview, but it is very close to the water. We would try for a ground level unit as no elevator. Realize pool and grounds are not too special. I've done a search here and looked at several rental web sites and (of course
Ult. Kaua'i Guidebook. Any opinions about the different rental agents? Thank you to Brenda who posted info about PK in a different thread.

Topping, We didn't get any responses.
Considering the price and the location of PK, I don't think one could go too far wrong. I haven't found anything as well-priced in Po'ipu that is as close to a beach. I actually found one unit @ PK that was about $50 a night, but it only had a double bed, and I need a king or queen.
I'd still enjoy any comments about Prince Kuhio, or any other inexpensive condos that are beachfront or within a block.

I have not stayed here, but was in Kauai last week and drove by and thought that this would be a good place to stay, especially on a budget.
I also checked in The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook (which I strongly recommend) and they give a "Solid Gold Value" rating to this property.

I haven't stayed there, but since you haven't gotten much info, I'll offer my two cents. I've stayed at Kuhio Shores which is across the street from Prince Kuhio (next door to the Beach House restaurant) and loved it. We got a fabulous ocean front one bedroom condo for $99 per night, although that was 4 years ago. We booked it on www.vrbo.com. Kuhio Shores does not have a pool, but I think it does have an elevator. Prince Kuhio complex looked nice from the road, which by the way runs between the complex and the ocean.

xxx: thanks for your comment on the Prince Kuhio. The Kuhio Shores looks really nice; now it seems to start at about $120 a night. On one of the rent-by-owner sites for the Kuhio Shores they mentioned that the surf noise can be quite loud. Did you expereince that? It made me think it might be TOO close to the water, if such a thing is possible.
