Where to stay in Kauai
My husband and I are planning a trip in August or September and are thinking about Kauai. Any suggestions where to stay? We enjoy snorkeling and beaches. I think we would like to have a pool, so not sure about a condo.

First congratulations on picking a great island. DH and I have been there 10 times and going back next week for our 11th trip. Never get tired of the beauty of the Garden Isle. Most of the condo's we have stayed in on Kauai have pools. We have rented via rental agencies and VRBO. Condo vs Hotel depends on whether or not you want to be waited on and have a restaurant handy or do you want more room like what a condo offers where you may or may not have maid service. Need a bit more info. What is your price range? snorkeling and beaches can be utilized with either a condo or hotel.

Hanalei.
No pools. No condos. Just some great vacation rentals on or close to one of the most beautuful bays in the world.
Walk to eats and beach. There were days we never got in the car and joined the forced march to "end of the road."
We've used:
napaliproperties.com and vrbo.com and have been very happy with the homes, the service and the location.

Although I favour the NorthShore - it's all good. Oh to spend a week in the wild west, a week in Poipu, and a couple more up north. Never met a corner of the island I couldn't find something good to say. . . . but haven't been to the landfill.
