paramount hotel-as bad as i have been reading?

I going to new york next week. (my dream destination) Have always wanted to go. I thought the hotel booked - paramount - 3 star - near times square, looked lovely but from what I have been reading from people who have stayed there it is awful. Im dreading the thought of it now!! Is there anyone with good reports?

The hotel is as reviewed - trying to be painfully trendy - and only partially succeeding - and with TEENY rooms. If you got a good price and that's what you expect you should be fine.

If you're expecting a 4* deluxe hotel you'll be very unhappy.

It will be fine, as long as you are realistic. It is what it is, and that isn't the Ritz. The rooms are small (as any hotel at that price point will be) and trendy. But you could probably tell that from the website.

Also remember that a lot of people who give reviews are people who shouldn't be spending time in hip, boutique hotlels. There needs can't be met there and their expectations are not aligned with what Paramount is trying to achieve.

Don't let the reviews of strangers ruin your vacation. Just relax and enjoy. It's perfectly safe and clean.

I stayed at the Paramount for four nights last June and loved it! If you've ever traveled in Europe, it's no worse than the small rooms there and I just loved the style. Definitely not a highway Holiday Inn! It's hip and kitschy and fun - and clean. I had great service from the staff the few times I needed it and the location is excellent. Spend time in the lobby if you can - free entertainment like that is hard to come by in NY!

I like the Paramount. It's in a good location, and it has a nice scene. As long as you are prepared for teeny rooms (as in the smallest room you've ever seen in your life), you'll be fine. Many of the bathrooms, though, are quite nice. Don't expect a lot of extra services, but you're in NYC to have fun and be out of your room, not to spend time in your room. Have a wonderful trip.
