"No activity in Petco Park tonight."
As a long-suffering Padre fan that is a fact most evenings, even when they play.

The mai tais I had the Royal Hawaiian are my all time favorites, although it has been quite some time. Great report!!

Aloha from Kaua'i!

"Said they were closing next month due to poor economy."

Waimea Brewing Company is not closing - they are doing some renovation work, but it is open during that time - when I asked them about the rumor of their closing - they said none of them had heard anything about it, especially since they are putting more money into it now.

So fans of Waimea Brewing Co. - it is still there!

Malama Pono,
JR

JR: I hope you are right! I was looking forward to returning to Waimea Brewing Co. when I am on-island in November.

Wow, did not expect to see this thread ressurected like this!Virgin, please reconsider the Kipu ATV. Of all my stories from the trip, this is my favorite one to tell!DH is 65 years old and he loved it like he was 15!

KSUCAT: don't know how to respond to your post. I love San Diego and have visited before, and our short stay there was really nice. There are so many things to do and see there, but it was just a stopover on the way to Paradise. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the Royal Hawaiian and our too brief stay in Oahu. Every American who has a chance to do so should see The USS Arizona. As the saying goes, freedom isn't free.

But Kauai was the trip of a lifetime. The people we met were friendly (they are really glad you have spent your time and $$ to visit in this economy) and let you know it. OK, except for one grouchy lady wearing a beautiful hibiscus in her hair at the ice cream shop in Princeville Center. Never mind. I had to restrain myself from using !!! on every line. Trust me, I had a wonderful 10 day break from normal life.

To get a kudo from Maitai Tom for a trip report: WOW

So, to sum it up, one of the highlights of the trip was meeting ICEEU2 and GMAC and crews. Will ask DH to help me post some more pics this weekend. Credit card bills come and paid, all of our friends have seen the pictures, and the family members we held captive saw theDVD.

Happy 4th to all, and see ya in paradise 2013!
