Which helicopter company on Kauai?

Which company do you recommend for a helicopter tour on Kauai? Is it worth the huge expense?

My son is very afraid of heights so I've been really debating doing this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If your son is afraid of heights, I wouldn't recommend it. The rides do cause some people to feel nauseated and dizzy. I personally love them but DH gets sick. It is scarier than an airplane because the craft is small and with the bubble window, you feel right there.

Inter-Island Air. They only take 4 at a time and there no doors so you arn't shooting pictures through the glass. My wife is also afraid of heights and she loved it.

We've used a couple different helicopter companies in Kauai and they were all great. One of the members of our group does not even like glass elevators but he really enjoyed the helicopter ride over Kauai and wanted to go again last week at Northshore Oahu but they were all booked.

I second the Inter-island Helicopter. My husband and I did the waterfall landing with Inter-island two years ago and it was the highlight of our trip, absolutely fabulous.

I have pictures. Just email me and I will get you the link

Well, if your son is afraid of heights, don't do InterIsland. There are no doors. I was white knuckled the entire time. Beautiful, wonderful, but never ever again am I going up in a helicopter with no doors.

Safari. We had friends that lived there, and they recommended Safari to us. They felt they were the safest!

We loved them!

Inter-island has no doors, but the lightest person in the group of four (your son) gets to sit up front in the middle between the pilot and the parent. Two adults get the back seats with no doors.

Well, guess which larda$$'s were put in the back when we rode?

I'm telling ya...if your son if very afraid of heights, please don't make him go...do a boat cruise with snorkeling instead.

I'm with you I'2. Thank god Marteen has a healthy fear of heights. Three trips to the hell-hole and no trips in the air yet. I like to see the island from the ground or from the water with my mask on.

We flew with Air Ventures Hawaii and it's very reasonable. We loved it! It was an airplane which we felt are much safer and the views were breathtaking!
