Weather is better today, mid sixties. Parents left for NYC and I'm loading up the honkin' SUV for FL. Looks like we'll leave tomorrow afternoon.

GoTravel, maybe we'll pass you on the way. We're flying out of Orlando Sunday morning so we too will be making the FL drive tomorrow. Plan on stopping in Savannah for a few hours on our way down.

OK, we now have 3 inches of snow here in western central NJ. I just heard on the radio that we are now expected to get up to 14 inches. Anyone need a navigator for their trip to Florida?

12-18" predicted for Boston this weekend... I don't know, variable weather makes me feel a bit more alive than the same thing day in and day out. (Still, Miami Beach is looking more and more attractive each year!)

Anyhow, I have a weekend guest (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more), so what's going on outside will be of little concern.. ;^)

aquaman..if your talking about that in Boston...imagine what it is in the 495 area..Guess we'll be listening to Dickie at 5:00...snow blower is ready and an extra can of gas. My reservations are all set for the D.R. the end of January...Sorry you snow lovers....it's a pain.

doc - yes it's snowing in Phila. It has been all day, and there's several inches accumulation. My kids love it, and they got out of school early today - a double bonus for them. I'm not quite as thrilled with snow as they.

My son is heading towards Phila from Wash DC. He called at Baltimore and said it was all rain & slush.

What part of Phila are you talking about. I have a sister who lives north of Phila and she says it's always worse north and west of the city than center city. We're staying at the airport. I'm leaving from the Jersey Shore in the morning and heading toward Phila.

A little bit of snow will not stop us from sitting in a nice warm cozy pub and watching Navy beat Army tomorrow afternoon!!!

I just got home from shopping at the Wrentham outlets on Route 495, southwest of Boston. Within two miles after we got on Route 495 heading northward, at about 8 PM, we saw no less than 8 accidents, with several cars off the road, some on their sides or roofs. Sudden squalls can cause roads to become as slippery as glass, especially when the weather has been very cold, so the road surface is below freezing, and then something wet like sleet falls on it and freezes.

Please drive carefully.

We have about 10 inches of snow here in Brooklyn, NY. Snow is not expected to end until midnight, and we're supposed to get another 4-6 inches in that time. I have to go food shopping, no less!! But I'll combine that with playing in the snow with my nieces, ages 8 and 5.

Traveling this weekend was like a sequel to Planes,Trains, and automobiles. But it was well worth it to see Navy beat up on Army.

East coast weather sucks but we beat it this weekend!

About that Nebraska weather...yesterday we were (well, my kids were) wearing shorts. This morning it's snowed 2 inches this past hour and shows no sign of letting up soon. No complaints here, though--we really need the moisture and hey, it's pretty! Finally looking and feeling like Christmas. We're hardy folk here in the northern plains--bring it on.

It is sooooooo cold here right now, but they say it will warm up and rain.
That is always fun in NYC when you try to cross a street and step off the curb.
The South is calling to me~~~~~Scarlett, it is warm and dry, come on down~~~~

Missjanna, today the weather is glorious...mid 70's...can open the house up. But I still miss seasons....I love SNOW, but DH does not..help. Want to trade, I love NYC. BTW, the roads are sooo crowded with "snowbirds", I can barely get around! Scarlett, remember what they say, "be careful what you wish for"....are you sure you won't miss the snow(like me)? Where are you moving to BTW? In sunny SW Fla, Judy

judy, I will be in Sunny Northeast Florida
If I get a hankering for snow, the Yankee can bring me back for a visit or we can fly to Montreal for the holidays.
You see, I have it all worked out

It's a good time of year to be moving to NE Florida Scarlett. All those beautiful old oak trees with spanish moss. From what I hear you will have a bit of spring and fall weather which will be great for walking Pup.

Hope you get down there before the next big snowstorm comes along and I know I'll be down there by the end of the month.

Thank you LN, that is my hope too
I talked to the mover today, asking if it snowed again, what would we do, and he said they work, no matter what!
I love those trees and I am happy that we have one on our property, as well as some huge pine trees.
It is very exciting to be moving, especially into the warmth..into the light~ LOL

Our MA backyard has 24" of snow in it from this first storm of the season. We plowed the driveway several times for several hours each and still had more on top. It began on Friday and didn't end until Sunday. This was a loooong storm. I hope it isn't an indication of what the rest of the season will be like. Glad I traded in the car for an all-wheel drive van!
