The Karmina Palace is a very nice place.
It has all suites. It faces Manzanillo Bay .
BUT how important is a beach to you.
This place has NO beach..amazing isn't it.
A better stay is next door at the 5 star Las Hadas, I am sure the price is the same for both.
Want more info!?

Hi Again
Okay, the Las Hadas is next to the Karmina Palace but about 2 blocks away, so this tells you are expansive the grounds are of both places.
If you see the advertisement for Las Hadas and you see a golfing green in the foreground , this is actually the 18th green of the golf course that is next to the Karmina Palace.
From Las Hadas to get to Karmina Palace ( or vice versa), you walk along a nice asphalt path that parallels the Las Hadas beach. When you get to the Karmina Palace , there is a nice walk bridge that you walk over , the 18th golf green is on your right hand side.
You will see nice pools on the grounds of the Karmina Palace and a nice setting with palm trees and flowers etc , BUT no beach, just a little sink hole.
For the beach you have to walk over to Las Hadas.
Here at Las Hadas you have a nice beach and several pools and a nice long Pier that I use to walk to every morning.
If you want to go to a nice little Mall( for a walk), then as you walk out the front doors of the Karmina Palace, then to your Right you will see some tennis courts and a parking lot.
beside this parking lot you will see a straight road( I mean straight as an arrow) for about 3 blocks long.
Walk to the end of this road,as you walk the golf course is to your right hand side.
You will arrive at a main street.
Turn right and walk another 2-3 blocks to this Mall and several internet cafes.
In fact you can walk allllll the way to Manzanillo walking down this street, but I would not do it......to far !!!and the temp will perhaps be 90F.
Personally ,I would stay at the Las Hadas, if you do ask (or e-mail)for room 1000 or 2000 or 3000 or 4000.
This is a very lovely corner suite that over looks the central courtyard.
I went 3 weeks before Christmas and it was beautiful and peaceful and lovely.
I took the tours to Colima and Colama and the Manzanillo City tour. All very nice.
But to get out in the Country and visit Comala and Colima( both on same tour) was very nice.

Percy, do you have the e-mail address for Las Hadas? We are booked in a Las Brisas Beach Club room at the end of this month & would like to request one of the room numbers you suggested. That is the room category you are describing right? Thanks for any info.....
Hope the hurricanes are gone by then too!

I stayed at Las Hadas for New Years..nice place but had several problems (posted a trip report on Tripadvisor). Nice beach at Las Hadas. Expensive at Las Hadas unless you are all=inclusive - but beware, all-inclusive wasn't exactly that...(see report on trip advisor for more) Karmina Palace had a "beach" that was acutally a lagoon, but it was great for kayaking. It's a good hotel for pool people. The beach seems kind of skanky - oily from power boats and poluted as it was too protected. I personally prefer Neuvo Vallarta.

Sorry I do not have the e mail to Las Hadas but I am sure you can get it off Google search.
I went All inclusive and got a good deal.
The only extra money I spent was on tours.
The drinks were all included but then I only drank beer..not much of a drinker but when the weather is almost 90F, the beer taste great.
Dar is right, if you do not go all inclusive then the Las Hadas is expensive because you are eating in the dinning room always, or at the pool bar which is cheaper.
I went all inclusive for $1150.00 Canadian so I cannot complain.
But I can assure you that rooms #1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 are just great, you actually have a suite for the price of a room , plus you are handy to everything, the pool, buffet breakfast, dinner area, lobby, tour bus area.
Las Hadas is build up into the mountain area , so that there are units higher and higher.
Stay close to the court yard area( of which room 1000 to 4000 over look) unless you like climbing to go to your room and climbing back down again everytime.!!!!
I do not know about the USA but here in Canada , we get a lot of package deals for all inclusive.
My travel agent said to me,"I have a good deal to Manzanillo ,can you leave in 5 days". I said yes and away I went.
From the Las Hadas you can walk over to the Karmina Palace anytime you want and through the lobby and out the front door and past the tennis courts and out to the main street.
You WILL like rooms 1000/ 2000 /3000/4000.For sure
