picking up rental car downtown Geneva

We can save almost $100 by picking up rental car in downtown Geneva instead of at the airport...How much trouble (time and transportation) is involved so I can decide if it is worth the savings. Thanks.

Where are you driving to from Geneva? You could look up the directions on one of the mapping sites like www.viamichelin.com or www.mappy.com.

What I needed to know is how far and how much would a bus or taxi cost to get from Geneva airport to downtown Geneva to pick up the car...or is the cost and time involved not worth the $90 savings.

There is a rail station at the Geneva airport. The trip into town takes no more than 10 minutes or so and it will certainly cost you a LOT less than $90.

As the Geneva airport straddles the Swiss/French border, it used to be cheaper to rent on the French side. Don't know if that still holds true.
