Lynda,

I don't know your definition of "best" but your options are rent a car, train, bus, or taxi. E.g., there are 5 buses a day from Geneva airport to the Chamonix train station, about a 2 hour trip. To Argentiere it is a 15 minute train hop. The same for returning to Geneva.

From Geneva airport to the centre of the city is a short ride on city bus #10. Geneva is a relatively small city -- you could even walk downtown from the airport if you had no luggage.

John Bermont
www.enjoy-europe.com

Thanks for your reply, but in fact my definition of 'best' way of going from point A to point B is 'short and easy'
I checked the train schedule and the train ride from Argentiere to Geneva downtown is about 3 hours and 15 minutes with 2 changes. Not so good.
Also, the recommendation of taking the train from Argentiere to Chamonix, then take a bus to Geneva airport, and then get in another bus downtown does not seem any less painful or any faster.

I was wondering if there would be a door to door shuttle that I could take from Argentiere to Geneva downtown.
Does anyone know?

Internetconnect,

I replied to your bus question on the other thread already. Of course you can hire a taxi in Chamonix to take you to Geneva, but this is bound to be expensive (probably about 100-150 EUR)...

A quick search on the web brought up these companies:
www.chamonix-taxi.com
http://www.upstairs.fr/taxi.chamonix/
http://www.taxi-buton.com/

Hope this helps,
Andre
