You need to call them from the airport in STT, and let them know what ferry you are taking. They will be there to pick you up. The distance is really not far at all, but with luggage it might be a pain in the butt. As long as you call them and let them know what ferry your on, they'll be there.
Enjoy your stay, we absolutely loved Gallows!!

Thanks Bill and Scott! Looking forward to being "in town" for our first night before getting into our Villa. Will make it easier to refamiliarize myself with Cruz Bay. Now if that weather forcast would stop scaring me!!

Just a quick reporting back to say we were very happy with our recent night at Gallows. We were in Upper Harbor Unit 11D. It was absolutely furnished very nicely and we loved the view. I agree it could have only used more and improved deck chairs. It is amazing how "far" you feel from town when you are on property and yet how close you are in reality. I think that you will love this, Owa, with your family as part of your family's trip.

Owa, yes, the nice GP gentleman was waiting at the ferry in a GP shirt so easy to spot. My impression was that he goes down to each ferry, but I might be wrong. He later took us into town for dinner and picked us up as we walked back up the hill. Our villa Vida De Mar was everything magical that I remember! Feels so remote yet we love that you can get into Cruz Bay in just a few minutes.

We just returned from a week at Gallows and I'd definitely recommend building #3 as having the best location on the property. Because it sits forward of the others on a bit of a point, it's the most private and probably offers the best views as well. We stayed in unit 3C, which was also nice on the inside (with the minor exception of a bit of rust on the refridgerator). I can't vouch for the interior of 3A, B or D.
Building #15 also looked to be a great location in terms of its views (particularly units A and C, which are closest to the ocean) although I'm not sure how much noise this spot might get from boats coming in and out of the harbor.
I'd recommend avoiding buildings 4 and 5, given the proximity of the restuarant, which can get noisy in the evenings.
To us, the view from the harborside units wasn't nearly as nice as the oceanside but if I had to pick one I'd stick to the lower numbers--probably 10 or 11 (although, as previously mentioned, I can't vouch for the decor or interior condition). I'd definitely avoid building 14, which currently overlooks a bunch of junk and old equipment that Gallows has piled up next to it. Hopefully that's just temporary.
Hope this is helpful to someone. Gallows is a great choice if you're looking for beautiful grounds, beautiful views, and a quiet location (assuming a smart unit choice) that's walking distance to town.

Marthag,
On our last stay at Gallows Point we were in 8B. A ground floor ocean view that we shared with any couple. It was great. We snorkeled the coastline starting at the "Gallows Beach' and went left as look at St. Thomas. Next time I want to rent a kayak and snorkel Stevens Cay just off the point.

Hi Martha,
Sorry for the daly in response. We thought the snorkeling at Gallows was very good. Even saw a cuttlefish there, which was something we've never seen anywhere else.
I'm not sure if I'll be doing a trip report this time around but I'm happy to answer any questions. Overall, we were quite happy with Gallows
