you may be in trouble.... hotel@mit, inn at harvard, hyatt cambridge--quite near, marriott cambridge, residence inn cambridge and courtyard, cambridge, there is a suites hotel in allston but i can't remember the name, sheraton commander in harvard square, the best hotel in the area in harvard square is the Charles hotel, there are a couple of good B&B's also...
further out there is a courtyard and a hampton inn (that is where craig is staying i think) right at the natick exit from the mass pike---less than 10 miles from cambridge...there is a holiday inn in newton right beside the MBTA which you could use to cambridge with a change or two....also the newton marriott also just off the mass pike...the sheraton needham, in my town is easy to get too also and you could follow us into town if you wanted...let me know what you get and i will give you exact directions if you need them...
there is also the new ritz, the old ritz, the four seasons, the marriott copley, the westin copley, the brand new jury's (in the old police headquarters) and tons more...all in boston proper
priceline often works in boston as well...with football games and parents weekends it may be a busy weekend...

I just made a reservation at the Hampton Inn, Natick. It's confirmed and can be cancelled if I find something better. Eric had mentioned that I should look for a Hampton Inn, something about Hilton Honors and good breakfasts.

Laurie - Jeane and I are staying at the Hampton. I am also a hiltonhhonors member. Hampton stays earn points in their program AND miles on United MP. The complimentary breakfasts are usually quite good. The nearby Courtyard does not offer a free breakfast.

Craig, you can also earn miles in American's AAdvantage program, which is where most of my miles are. I've already put my AA number in. I want the HiltonHonors points to go in Eric's account though since he has way more than me. I don't know his number but I'm assuming we can give the number when we get there.

laurie...that hotel was built about 20 years ago as a hilton so it is a bit nicer than most hamptons...probably a bit outdated but not bad...
when you come off the exit, head east (to your left as you exit the toll booths....this puts you on rte 30 east i think...at the first major traffic lite you turn right on speen street...there is mobil station and an exxon station there....go up the hill past the courtyard and the home depot...then it is a bit confusing...you will see your hotel on the left...i think you can go through the lite there by sears (on your right and make the first left at cosco (behind the shrubs and trees)...this is sort of an access road...go to the end of it...only about 1000 feet...the hotel will be in front of you and to the left...jump across that road (it is speen st going in the other direction) and take the drive into the hotel...it may be the second opening as there is an opening into boston scientific there i think first...if you pass it take the entrance into the shopping center where michaels is...they all connect once inside... sounds complicated but it is very easy...i'm sure the website has directions as well...hell you are an attorney ---you know everything---just ask gpanda!!!
there is a naked fish restaurant at the lite by the gas stations which is quite good and many other restaurants in that area.....

The truth will come out on Saturday. If I give some advance notice, no one will be surprised. If I don't start adjusting to the time change, I WILL be acting stupid too! This morning on my way to work, I was all the way to the subway station when it occurred to me that I couldn't see a damn thing, I left my glasses at home. I also thought I left my briefcase on the subway platform. Turns out, I left that home too. When I got to work, I had no idea what I was doing. I lasted all of three hours there. Luckily, the Powers That Be took one look at me and knew I was in no shape for hearings so they put me in the back with paperwork instead. To put it mildly, I'm a mess.

So,Bob...I've arrived in Cambridge and just finished dinner at the restauraunt at the Hotel@MIT. The food was great. It was a L-O-N-G trip. Actually, I was on the plane, in L.A., this morning at 12:30AM...for the red eye...and my eyes were REALLY red...The flight was from L.A.-Atlanta-Boston...9-plus hours and I'd never seen so many people in my life. Well, got on the plane and had my seatbelt all fastened when the flight attendant came over the loudspeaker and announced that that the flight was overbooked by 12 seats and there were some passengers who really needed to be on that flight and then she asked for volunteers to give up seats. Well, no one moved...I thought about it and then raised my hand and said I'd give up my seat only if I could be guaranteed a seat on a non-stop flight from L.A. to Boston...later that morning... So, I was told that they could put me on Song Airlines...which was absolutely wonderful,to say the least. I had the whole row to myself and a TV with lots of TV stations, great music, healthy food...they had grilled tofu on cabbage, carrots, and other veggies with a Thai sauce(delicious)... So, I went with the agent and was issued a $400. voucher for having given up my seat...I was thinking....Buenos Aires?...Honolulu GTG next summer?...back down to New Zealand to see friends?...$400. goes a long way....So, then I was given a hotel voucher and I went outside of the airport and ran after the mini-van that was going to the hotel...by now it was REALLY late and I was the only one on the street. The van screached to a halt as a bus driver saw me running after the van and hollering for it to stop...The bus driver honked down the van driver to stop for me...or else I would have had to wait 30 minutes for another van. So, I jumped in and there were a few other beat-up/worn-out looking passengers from the same flight I had just given my seat up on. We chatted with each other and then went on to our flea bag hotel! And, boy was it a flea bag...the smell...yuck. But, I've definitely stayed at worse flea bag hotels. we were also given a breakfast voucher. So,I went to bed at 2:00AM and got up at 7:00AM, ate, and then went back to the airport and boarded my 5 and a half-hour flight to Boston. I love the hotel here. When I checked in, the guy at the front desk could see that I was wiped out, so he said he was going to give me a very nice room...which he did. It's quite spacious...I've definitely been upgraded. I have a livingroom area, too. Right now, I'm in the business lounge where there's free computer use. So, now, I need to sleep, but absolutely must set the alarm clock first because if I wake up at 10:00AM, my time, tomorrow, then it'll already be 3 hours later here. So, I'll need to cut off three hours of sleeping time. Got to go....must get the hands ready for tomorrow...ha...ha...ha.... Happy Travels!

I did not get washed away today in the rain, so I shall be there as well! Son and I will be driving in from Portsmouth NH and should arrive by noon, hopefully. We shall check into the hotel and then come down for lunch.
See you very soon.

Bob...no, it's not as geeky as I thought it would be.And, I'm definitely not a geek...I don't even own a computer! The room is very modern and quite eye catching. But, the bedspread does have(subtle) mathematical equations on it! Happy Travels!
