Connection time JNB - CPT - flying from NBO?

Yikes - that's more a flyertalk subject!

We leave NBO at 9am and arrive JNB at 12:20 via Kenya Airways - looking to book a flight to CPT that afternoon - we can book a 2pm or 3pm on to CPT. Is there enough time to comfortably book the 2pm? Do the flights from NBO arrive on time reliably?

thanks!

I'd give yourself at least two hours or more. You have to go through Immigration, get your bags, go through Customs, then walk to the domestic terminal. My experience there is that it takes a long time to check in and can be somewhat confusing. If you can get a flight at 3pm, then you have a pad with which to work.

I would also opt for the 3pm flight. You are flying at "Africa time" and anything can happen...........

I would even go so far to book a flight at 4pm if available. I personally HATE to rush from terminal to terminal not to mention the tight nerves if there is a delay in NBO.

The terminal now is fantastic and offers great restaurant options etc.
You can do shopping (good bookstore) get your SA sim card if you want one, stroll a bit.

I rather plan grossly especially if there is not so much to do at the final destination for that particular day anyway.

Just my 2 cents - the way I like to travel..........

Thanks to both of you - I am about to book the 3pm flight - the 4pm "cheap seats" are sold out.....

We are carrying on that day to Simonstown for our house rental - would like to get there in early evening so hope the 3pm works out

Best

Just booking a rental car now for pickup at CPT - is there just one terminal for Int'l and Domestic arrivals? It's not clear on the SAA site.........thanks!

Just got back from Cape Town two days ago. There are two terminals and the whole airport is filled with construction due to the World Cup next year. It is very confusing as you have to walk through the entire enclosed parking garage just to get to International departures after being dropped off.

Be aware that there are two different drop offs for rental cars-the international one is behind the construction and the sign is hard to see.

We stayed two days down in Simons Town at the Boulders Beach Lodge to see the penguins-loved it! Where is your house rental? I would love to hear about it and how much it is after you get back-want to take my husband next year. Thanks!
