Quality of Hard Rock Hotel??
I have been to Vegas a bunch of times, and each time have stayed in either the Bellagio or Mandalay Bay. I want to try something a little different (and less expensive) this time, and I was thinking about the Hard Rock. I know the clientele skews very young (I'm 28 and single, so I think that's ok), but I'm more interested in knowing about the quality of the facilities. How are the rooms? I know they can't compare with Bellag or MBay, but are they better than Strip average? Is the pool good (clientele aside)? Do you feel isolated being away from the Strip? Many thanks in advance.

The decor is decidedly different than typical LV "psuedo-classy". It's billed as world design and is a much more sleek look, with lost of indirect lighting, natural wood and metal, and furniture built in. Rooms are OK size, not cramped but not spacious either. Pools area is quite cool. Casino is (as expectable) smaller than in the huge places. If you like the "posh" feel of Bellagio, you won't get it here; overall, tends to appeal to a younger crowd.

Hard Rock is not about the rooms, it's about the scene downstairs in the casino and by the pool. Rooms are very minimal and don't make you want to lie around in them. If you are used to exploring other hotels from Belaggio or MB, you will either feel isolated or just take a cab to the strip and go from there.
If you are 28,single and unhip, I would not stay at Hard Rock. The hipper you are, the more comfortable you will feel there. PS When I was out there last week, I heard the Palms was the new fun young place to be, but we went for the Strip location instead.
