Theater In San Francisco
I have tickets for Beach Blanket, while in San Francisco, but I would like to attend a play while in the city. I will be leaving before "The Producers" opens. Any suggestions for plays that might be appearing the 26th-1st of February in the city. Also, is "Dame Edna" fun?? Thanks for your help. Is there a web site listing theater and musical events for the city?

I think the show at Finnochio's is closed..however, I would say if "gender illusionists" are something you are interested in check out "ASiaSF" as a place to go. There is also good repertory theater in Berkeley. They often have first run plays or reinterpretations of classic ones. Try the internet under "Berkeley Repertory Theater".

Pam, I was not just interested in a gender illusionist show, but entertaining theater and maybe a musical. This show was listed in a San Francisco travel book, as being a Las Vegas type entertainment show, with songs from broadway and entertainers dressed as stars. Pam, thanks so much for the web sites for checking out theater.

SAbrina, I called the listing for Finnochio's. It did close on Broadway in 1999. Apparently there is another show in SF called "Guys are Dolls" billing itself as in the tradition of Finnochio's and listed as Finnochio's in directory assistance. It sounds like this might be more to what you had in mind than the AsiaSF club. There is a recording and you can get all the info from that. The number is (415)551-9785. I hope this helps.

Sabrina,
While I have yet to get to the show, I have heard good things about A Feast of Fools. SF Gate has reviewed it if you are interested.
