Vegas:Small Hotel Possible?

Hello,
We're tentatively planning a trip to Las Vegas in Mid February. Frankly, I don't want to stay in a huge hotel (anything bigger than 1,000 rooms). Can anyone recommend a smaller location that's still on par with Bally's, Bellagio, Venetian and the other places frequently mentioned? Thanks.

Absolutely NOT on the Strip. The smaller hotels there are definitely downmarket from the others.

Closest class act near the Strip would be the Palms, frankly. Nice rooms, good restaurants, great nightclubs, swanky clientèle (mostly on the weekends, when you might see some celebs). It's just off-Strip, so you're not sacrificing too much vis-à-vis location.

If you're willing to stay WAY off-Strip, the JW Marriott is extremely nice, with a superb spa and great golfing available.

Barbary Coast gets good reviews on cheapovegas.com, and it is a smaller place and on the Strip. Howerver, I wouldn't say it was on par with the bigger, luxury places.

There's also the Alexis Park, but it is not on the Strip.

My aunt and uncle have been going to Vegas for years and they always stay at the Rio. It is across the highway from the strip but has a shuttle that leaves quite frequently for the strip. The rooms are extra large with living area -- the views are spectacular. It's not small but it has more of a smaller feel.

We stayed awhile back at the Luxor and I thought the rooms were very nice. And only $79/night internet deal. The place is huge but our room was intimate.

If you are looking for something on par with Bellagio, try the Four Seasons at Manadaly Bay.
