Bus #351 from CGD

Hello all. Glad to have found this site. It's very helpful in planning our trip to Paris next month. Our hotel is 2 blocks from Nations. I have been told there is a bus #351 from CDG to Nations that would work very well for us. Does anyone know where at the airport I'll catch this bus and also the cost? Our luggare is very limited so this might be an option for us instead of the airport shuttle services? Thank you for any help.
Shirley

Without answering your question ...yet...

There are four other options to add to your possibilities.

One, taxis. Probably most expensive.

Second, Air France Bus. Aboput 14 euros. Goes to standard drop-off points in central Paris. From there, catch RER train/Metr/taxi to your hotel. Do not have to be on Air France to use it. Big, large coach.

Thirdly, the Roissybus. Similar to Air France bus, but only drops off at Opera. Then take same means as above to hotel. About 8 euros.

Fourth. The cheapest and fastest would be the RER commuter train. MUltiple stops in central Paris. I've taken it with one medium size bag. If you have lots of luggage...may be some walking between stations if you trasnfer from RER to the Metro system (the lines cross at the RER stations, your ticket is good for both). Here you would probably take RER/Metro directly to Nations (transfer to different line required). Cost 8,50 euro.

I went to the www.ratp.fr site and entered the itinerary for getting from airport to Nations RER station. Yes, it is bus 351. Takes about an hour. Leaves from Roissypole (which may mean a walk or a shuttle, depending on where you land at CDG). My only concern would be where to put your luggage.

Buses usually have many stops at CDG, not just Roissypole (which is where the RER is). That bus has stops in Terminals 1 and 2 (both sides), as well as near the TGV. You can easily get bus line maps with stops marked on www.ratp.fr

Which terminal will you land at? If it is Terminal 3, walk over to the RER station & Ibis Hotel at Terminal 1 (4 minute walk, just follow the crowd) and the bus stop for 350 and 351 is right there, you can't miss it. Otherwise, go to Terminal 2A and wait outside Door 3, or Terminal 2B and wait outside Door 9. The fare is 3 tickets and you can buy them from the driver.

I think the fare for the 3 tickets is small, like around 5-6€ total (per person).

Even better, here is everything you need to know:

http://www.easycdg.com/pages/cdg_air...l#ANCHOR_Txt24

Scroll down to the section for Bus 351.

Fares:
3 tickets (4,20 &euro
You can buy tickets directly from the driver.

Schedules:
Every 30 minutes from 5:30 AM to 8:20 PM (Paris > CDG).
Every 30 minutes from 7:00 AM to 9:35 PM (CDG > Paris).
About 60 minutes journey depending on traffic.

Location at CDG:
Terminal 1..............Gate 30
Terminal 2A/2C.......Gate A9
Terminal 2-RER station.......Level 5
Terminal 2B/2D..................Gate B6
Terminal 3....................Roissypole bus station

I presume this is a public bus, lots of stops, and no special storage area for luggage.

Bus 351 to Nation requires 3 metro tickets = 4.50€.

Same thing for bus 350 to Gare de l'Est.

The price has gone down because it used to require 5 metro tickets.

The 350 & 351 are public buses, of course, but because the run to Paris starts at CDG, there are always seats and space for luggage. It seems to be used mostly by airport employees and travelling Parisians for whom it is convenient. Look for the stop at Place de la Nation where you can get on the bus to go back to the airport, or ask the driver. It is NOT where you will get off, arriving at Nation. The first bus to the airport is approx. 5:00 am.

Thanks Sherbrooke.....I'd hate to be stranded on the morning of my departure. I'll check with driver when I get off.

You can visualize the stop here - it's the one over on the right side of the map: tinyurl.com/68hp4o

Thanks Robespierre. That was a big help. We stayed at same hotel last year so know the Nations Circle. It will be easy and by far the cheapest way to get to and from airport.
