Metro CDG to Orly?

MY friend and I are arriving at CDG and flying out of Orly on the same day, June 1. From the map I have it look as if we can go from one airport to the other using the Metro. Is this the best way to do it? We have five hours between flights. Also we will have luggage, so will there be a problem getting through the turn stiles? Thanks for the help.

You didn't define "best" so there is no definitive answer.

The most convenient is a taxi. It will cost you €70-80.

Air France runs a direct bus for €16.

Were you planning to bop around Paris at all? Do you want a cheaper ride?

Hop the bus as by RER you must first take shuttle bus to RER station at CDG then RER B to Antony stop then Orlyval right to terminals; changing twice. A bit of hassle for large luggage to go thru turnstyles but can be done. Price seems similar to bus but i believe bus much more convenient with luggage. RER B trains can also be very crowded and the ones from CDG have been put on the State Dept's list of places to be careful as they are a pickpocket/bag theft's Nirvana! If taking the train be careful of your bags.

The RER station at CDG is at the intersection of Halls C, D, and F in Terminal 2. Here is a map of CDG-T2:$File/cdg2gran.gif

Here is a page where the public (RATP) services to the airports are spelled out:

You can also get from CDG to ORY and all around Paris by Métro, RER, bus, and tram for €16.75 using a pass the RATP sells called a Paris Visite. If you want to squeeze in a quick trip to a few sights, this might be a good choice for you.

We took the Air France bus from Orly to CDG and found it comfortable, efficient, and inexpensive.

Because the bus goes from point A to point B without taking on or dropping off passengers along the way, we felt less susceptible to pickpockets or luggage theft.

Plus, riding the bus offered a glimpse of neighborhoods we might not otherwise see.
