Most luxe resort for families?

Hello...haven't posted in a while. Just had a little baby 4 months ago and we're trying to plan our yearly Christmas vacation.

We usually like 5 star spots romantic spots, but see that our new little one may change that...

All-inclusive is ok too, just want a nice, clean, safe place (that has babysitting). Also, a direct flight from NY would be good.

I've done my internet research -- seems that Almond Resorts have kids programs, as does Windjammer Landing, and FDR resort (which I dont think my husband would go for.)

Thanks!

How about the Regent Palms in turks and Caicos? It's a Ritz/Four Seasons type resort, with full litchens so you can keep baby foods/milk at your disposal, yet full service with babysitters, Spa, and bottled waters and fruit at the beach. It's on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, usually calm crystal clean waters, great intro for babies. Direct flight from NY. You may also want to check out Grace Bay Club, it would fit your needs, as would my personal favorite, The Somerset. The Somerset actually has specials that include babysitting.

The Somerset (Turks and Caicos)

Carlisle Bay (Antigua)

CuisinArt (Anguilla)

Four Seasons (Nevis)

...are my picks!

you might look at caneel bay on st. john. you do have to ferry from st. thomas but caneel ppl meet you at the airport, take care of your luggage and get you to the ferry. the transfer takes a bit over an hour including van to ferry. caneel is pretty romantic but still a good place for kids.
i would not choose a kids resort yet. they have no activities intended for a 10 month old child so you may as well wait to give up the romantic resorts until baby is old enough to put in the programs - usually 2-3 yrs old - and even then it's more a sitter service until they are old enough for organized activity. i'd also look for the shorter flight times like jfk to provo (3/12 hrs) or st.thoms (4hrs) or cancun (4 or 4 1/2 hrs) < all non-stops.
for jfk to nevis & antigua - stops in san juan. anguilla stops in san juan & antigua.
newark offers nonstop to antigua.

Blamona has made some really good suggestions -

We just returned from Somerset. It was fantastic. We were there with a toddler, but there were many couples with babies. Its perfect. Super location right on the beach. Cont. Breafast buffet is included and the restaurant also serves a la cart options. Lunch is at a restaurant by the pool. They will serve you drinks / food on the beach if you wish. The pool is wonderful and the beach is perfect for little ones. The hotel has nice chairs and umbrellas. We saw many babies napping under umbrellas.
We stayed in the English Cottage section. Three story rooms ours had 2 bedrooms. Ground level garage and laundry, main level living room / dining room / terrace and full kitchen. Everything you would need. Plus upper level bedrooms / bathrooms. Plenty of room.
Plus having traveled a lot with my daughter. Its SO important to have a kitchen with little kids. Plus having another room to go to when baby is sleeping. Otherwise you have to be locked in one room with a sleeping infant. Done that. It was horrible. Had to go to bed at 6! LOL
The Somerset also does room service. We went to IGA when we arrived and bought groceries too.

Have fun whatever you decide. They do have babysitters too.
The nice thing there is the restaurant (for dinner) was VERY good and we enjoyed dining out there. So you dont even have to leave the property for a good meal.

Plus with room service and cable tv a night in can be a good option too!

As another poster mentioned. I would not focus on "kids" amenities as you dont want a kids club with a baby. You just need a place who is used to having infants.

Will also add LIttle Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands as well as Spice Island Beach Resort on Grenada.
