Regent Palms or Point Grace
Hello,
My husband and I will be celebrating our 5th anniversary in the Turks & Caicos. We are debating between The Palms and Point Grace. At The Palms we would have a luxury room (not sure what view would be) and at Point Grace we would have a cottage with a pool view.
We are in our late twenties and love to stay at luxurious resorts like the 4S in Maui or the St. Regis in Dana Point. We have never stayed at a boutique hotel and are looking forwad to it, we are just unsure which resort we would like better. Any suggestions or recent reviews of either? Thanks!

Both are lovely resorts. Point Grace sits on a Point and is quiet and intimate with great service and good food. Regent Palms has a bit more "south beach" feel to it and more kids than Point Grace. Great shops at the Palms. Both are 5 minutes from nearby restaurants or less. My vote would be Point Grace for intimacy.

Palms is "see and be seen" South Beach Miami type crowd. It gets crowded, and has a chic atmosphere. The rooms are bright and airy, the beds are very comfortable. I consider Palms a more full service type resort-but the luxury room is just a resort room. With a 1 bedroom-you get a gorgeous full kitchen with Viking appliances, dining, living-and a shower taking up the whole bathroom to die for. If you are used to St. Regis in Dana Point, you really should go for at least a 1 bedroom, not the bottom luxury rooms-which really view garages. The 1 bedrooms look out into the pool and beach, and have huge windows. the Spa is probably one of the nicest in the world.
Point Grace is quiet, and has a zen relaxing feeling to it. There may only be a handful of people staying there. the cottages here have full kitchens and sitting areas, and are a dark wood Old Caribbean decor look.
Depends what you are looking for-peace and quiet, or more active.
You may also want to check out The Somerset (my personal favorite-no secret here.) Which is more similar in style as St. Regent Dana Point (as oppossed say, to The Montage at Laguna Beach)
Or for a true relaxing excellent get away (for destressing-not much to do) you may want to consider Parrot Cay. Or split the week-3 days Parrot Cay, the rest in one of the above.
Sorry I didn't help, probably made it tougher for you!

Thank you. I appreciate both replies. We really are struggling with the decision. We would typically choose a place like the Regent. We have never stayed at a really small resort like Point Grace, but we are very interested in staying there and the cottage rooms are very spacious for a 7 night stay. We just don't want to feel "too isolated." Also, we will be traveling over Feb. break and I am worried there will be a ton of kids at the Regent. I'm a teacher - so I do enjoy a break from kids. Thanks for your help. I'm going to look at the Somerset and look to see if a few days at Parrot Cay are affordable.

Couple of suggestions. Suggest you take a look a www.luxurylink.com. Several T&C resorts have auction and Buy Now packages on that site. Re "Cottages" at Point Grace. They are not stand alone. Each cottage contains three units--two down and one up so I would request one on the second floor for more privacy and a little better view.
