Oh - and the other advantages of the better seats:

padded seats versus just metal

waitress service so you don;t have to stand on huge lines for the (fairly awful) food

Dohlice, I'm not sure if your post was meant for me.

As I understand stubhub, these tickets are now confirmed. I assume they're owned by season's ticket holders who buy them for the purpose of selling them like this.

We're only in NY for a week and Detroit is the team that's playing when we can go. I honestly don't care who's playing. I like baseball, I like New York, I've never been to YS, and this will be my last chance to go. It's more for the experience.

As I have plenty of my own padding, I'm happy in an unpadded seat for 3 hours and I've paid under what my max was. Our (past) season's tickets in Toronto were high but great. On the stadium seating chart website, you can click on your seats and get an actual photo view. We're farther down the baseline than we've ever sat before but that's OK.

That said, I think we'll go out to the stadium early and if anything closer in is available, we'll take that and sell our tickets.

OH, NO, hdm. I'm sorry, I couldn't help responding to the obnoxious red sox fan. Enjoy the game - it's a great time wherever you end up sitting. There is a bar called Stan's right outside the stadium. Go for a drink before the game for a cramped, wild, fun experience! Yankee stadium is beautiful. Every year when I go to my first game and catch that first glimpse of the field it feels like the first time.

Thanks, Dohlice, and it's good to know about Stans. Would it be an OK place for a very casual dinner before the game?
