We take a friend with our son when we travel but the friend is a male and the details of who pays for what, insurance and emergency phone number info in case of a "God forbid problem" go along. BUT NO GIRLFRIENDS. And another piece of advice, my 17 y/o missed his girlfriend so much he ran up a $180 phone bill calling her from New Mexico, which he paid out of his own $. Now at 22 and married w/ children he doesn't even remember who he called but remembers the money he wasted!!!

We told all the kids that they can invite a friend for a few days of the trip. I promise an interesting trip report sometime in June.

I think that IT WAS a great idea to bring the girl along, lets you see how well or how bad she is for your son, and if you aren't off acting like a teenager, then it shouldn't be such a hassle supervising the two teenagers that are with you. Point Made, Case Closed Hope You Had Fun On Vacation!

We'll be waiting for you report next month, wsoxrebel! Does your son still have the same GF over four months later? My two sons have kept their same girlfriends for over a year, it's my daughter who has new BF every week! LOL ***kim***

I took my 17 year old son's girlfriend with me to Disney World and Universal in February. My husband couldn't come with us, so I took the gf instead. It was me and them. We had a marvelous time. We went to all the themeparks, ate in nice restaurants, did some shopping and sat by the pool. They never "dumped" we once.

I, of course, had her mother's written permission to seek emergency medical treatment and her mother's written persmission for her to travel to Florida from Michigan with me.

It turned out great. We all had big fun and I think everyone has to make this decision for themselves based on their circumstances.

For accommodations, I had a one bedroom suite at Universal's Royal Pacific hotel, which worked out great. She and I were in the bedroom and my son slept on the sofabed.
