Melnq8--yes those banana slugs are pretty gross! We have a lot of those. Really too bad you missed Seufert Winery as he also makes a dry rose that is really good.

You covered so much ground! Too bad about the rain. Although given a choice between a cool/mild rainy day, or, a DC summer, I'll take the cool/mild rainy day hands down.

For my contemplated one week, sounds like I can only visit two places and that may be Portland/near Portland (rivers/trees/hiking/waterfalls), and maybe Bend.

It was a good trip despite the miserable weather. We're considering a return visit in Sept, hoping for less rain.
