What dates? What is your budget?

With kids that age I would head for the upper west side and get a suite - so you'renot sopacked in togeter - and in a more family friendly area - with alot of activitis for kids nd adults.

I agree. You'll get a room with 2 double beds at the Palace unless you go for a suite. There are suite hotels that aren't as fancy that will be about the same price and give you more space. The San Carlos has 1 bedroom suites (some with 2 bathrooms) and includes breakfast and is not far from the Palace. The Best Western Hospitality is another suite hotel in that area. As nyt says, the upper west side near the Mus. of Natural History is a good area and the Beaconhotel.com has 1 & 2 bedroom suites but is hard to book.

Try the Ace Hotel on Broadway and 29th St. The hotel is new and very nice. The lobby has a national parks lodge feel. All the rooms are nicely appointed, and you can get a separate room for the kids add on for about that rate. Close to shopping, restaurants and bus/subway. www.acehotel.com

Years ago we shared a room with our kids at the Helmsley Palace, its original name. It was very spacious and not at all tight for the four of us. Its a great location, near Rockefelller Center and Central Park.

The New York Palace is my favorite hotel in nyc, but i've never taken my children there so I'm not sure if it's the best choice for that...have you asked the hotel what options they have for familys?
