Speaking of expensive Broadway tix ...
Did anyone see this article in the NYTimes about people taking their *little* kids to Broadway shows??
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/07/th...broa.html?8dpc
The photo on the front page is of 21 mo old twins at a show. As the mother of a 2 yr old, I can't imagine taking a 21 mo old to a Broadway show!!
I've had a moment's thought about my 4 yr old, but it quickly passed. Especially at those prices!

While maybe I could see taking a child at age 6 or 7 to a show, anything younger seems like a big waste of money. The people that supposedly "want to expose my 2 or 3 year olds to Broadway" clearly don't appreaciate the attention span of a child that age. It almost seems like the parent wants to be there and the child is their "prop." As a mother of a 6 month old there is no way in the next 3 years that I would attend a Broadway musical with him to "expose him to the arts."

I can't imagine spending $125 for a ticket and being forced to sit in front of you. I hate that there are more and more rules and laws - but it used to be that people had common sense. That is no longer the case and they need to just ban infants and toddlers from Broadway shows. I sat next to a couple of children at Avenue Q. Completely innappropriate for them.

Nuts is the right word. The article really turned me off when I read it this morning. Why any parent would think it's okay to take a 21-month-old child to the theater is beyond me! Whether one can afford it is not the question!

Uhhhh..have ANY of you read the posts which are numerous about taking "toddlers" and even younger kids to Europe???? Going to a Broadway show is cheap in comparison and I'll bet those kids don't even kick the seat backs.

Discalimer - I don't have any kids. Just wanted to mention a word about the prices: If it's too expensive, see http://www.broadwaybox.com for some sweet online discounts, along with listings, reviews, seating charts etc.
