Seattle - Marymoor Park

We are going to Seattle at the end of April and have scored some Corteo tickets. The venue is Marymoor Park which is about 15 miles from our hotel (the Sheraton Seattle. We are flying in and may not have a car on the night of the performance. Will there be an issue with getting there and back? Any suggestions? I know we can check with the concierge at the hotel, but I obsess about things like this! Thanks--

Marymoor Park is just south of Route 520. It might be a little bit of a challenge to take a bus there. Check out the Metro 216 (http://transit.metrokc.gov/cftemplat...=216&DAY_NAV=W), which goes from downtown Seattle to close to Marymoor. Any bus that goes on Rte 520 to Redmond will get you close.

A car would be awfully good to have in this case. Allow lots of time to cross Lake Washington, those bridges get bad traffic pretty much all the time.

I would allow quite a bit longer than 15 mins. from downtown Seattle all the way out to Redmond! Depending the time of day, what transportation you end up using, and the route you take, I'd allow 30-45 mins.

Sorry I don't have any ideas other than rental car, Metro bus, or taxi. I would ask at your hotel.

Metro Bus route 216 crosses I-90 and would not be the most direct route. You can use the "trip planner" on the Metro site to plan your trip by bus.

http://tripplanner.metrokc.gov/cgi-b...l?resptype=www

Put in Sheraton Hotel and Marymoor Park for your start and end points along with your departure or desired arrival time. The most direct (to the venue) would be Metro Transit (MT) route 250 departing from 4th Ave & Pike Street (.2 mi w of the Sheraton) via Hwy 520. Get off at West Lake Sammamish & NE Marymoor Way (likely a pull cord stop). This route is not available for the return.

Unfortunately the return trip via Sound Transit (ST) route 545 would require walking about 3/4 of a mile to West Lake Sammamish and Leary Way to catch the return bus and the road is a busy one to be walking on in the near dark.

The drive is not too bad and a car would be highly recommended.

You might be best off with a taxi from the Redmond Park and Ride which is quite close to Marymoor. Public transportation would be a real challenge.

Good luck!

Mary,
If you're a dog lover, you might want to get there a bit earlier and observe the best dog park in the world!

Downtown Seattle today was overtaken by Cirque du Soleil performers dressed in white and with feathery wings--quite a site.

I also noticed a small fleet of Yellow Cabs painted in Cirque du Soleil colors and with Cirque du Soleil advertising, including little blue and gold tents atop them.

I gather Yellow Cab is providing transportation to Corteo. In case you're interested, their phone number is (206) 851-6499.

"Corteo" received very enthusiastic reviews in both Seattle daily newspapers today. Enjoy!
