Transportion to/from WAMU Theater in Seattle to Westlake Center

I'm going to be in Seattle a few days and staying at the Mayflower Park Hotel on Olive Way/Westlake Center. My friend and I would like to go to a concert at the WaMU Center which is south and from my checking, there is no good bus line there (the only one stops some blocks away) from this area. We can easily get a cab to go there from the hotel, but are wondering how we might get back to the hotel after the concert, which will probably be at least 11 pm.

Is there any good public transporation at that time with a stop at this location, not blocks away? Is it possible to get a taxi to go back by a taxi queue at the theater? We don't mind doing that if it is feasible, even if it may be a wait. It's just that at some public venues I'm been to, it's almost impossible to get a taxi afterwards and some don't even have taxis who wait there.

I"m really surprised there isn't some direct way to get there between these two major points, but I checked SouthTransit online and they didn't give a very good option. Any suggestions?

There are busses--even free ones!
Figure it out here: http://metro.kingcounty.gov/
Or, call 206-553-3000

It may be a walk to the bus stop, but you will presumably be in a big crowd.

It's Metro bus you want to be checking for downtown (not Sound Transit).

Personally I wouldn't be so keen on trouping around that area of town after 11pm looking and waiting for a bus. I don't think it's dangerous but around the theaters and stadiums there is kind of commercial and some streets will be dark and deserted.

Christina, (i live in Seattle but) I've never been to the theater. I can't imagine there wouldn't be a taxi stand available after events? Maybe ask the theater your question?

thanks, I was going to call the theater to ask how easy it was to get a taxi there as I did not want to be walking blocks to the bus stop late at night. But, in any case, I changed the exact date plans so the concert isn't an issue now.

thanks for all the advice

Thanks for the update. Metro bus is great for lots of places & times getting around Seattle generally speaking. But doesn't cover everything. Especially late at night and women out together I'd choose a cab.

When taxis aren't available on the spot & assuming you have a cell just call Yellow Cab 206-622-6500 for a pickup.
