I will never forget that day and the fear and sadness. The weather today is perfect - sunny blue skies and warm temperatures - just as September 1, 2001 was. It was a tough drive to work today listening to the radio and recalling the horror. God Bless the lost souls and their families.

We will never forget.
Many people coming into the offic today seemed a little sad. And an impromptu conversation in the kitchen revealed that every one of us (8) had either lost someone or had a friend who lost someone.
I lost an in-law (firefighter) and two of my close co-workers (then - not now) lost someone - one a finace (firefighter) and one an uncle (kantor Fitzgerald).
Sometimes it's really hard being a New Yorker and realizing that we are still the targets of so much hatred.

We visted NYC in July of 2007. We stayed a the Embassy Suites, so we walked past the WTC site every morning on the way to the subway. We'd pass all these normal office workers, and I'd think about how many normal office workers just like them lost their lives. They weren't soldiers or heads of state or government officials....they were ordinary office workers, just like me. It was very sobering.

I couldn't believe that the NY Times did not have anything on the first page today relating to 9/11. It's on everyone's minds - such sadness!
RedRock - the USA is despised by many and there are certainly other targets besides NYC, but NYC is a target 24/7 and make no mistake, it effects our lives here every....single....day!

I think of soldiers as being more extraordinary, because they have volunteered to be in the line of fire. If they could have, they would have fought the Sept 11 highjackers to the death. But the cowards chose to primarily attack non-combatants instead.

I had to switch the channels - couldn't see anything through the tears.
I just hope people start taking terrorism seriously. Taking the shoes off in the airport is a small price to pay compare to what those people went through on 09/11/01.
