Dear Regina:
We visited the Ulapalkua Ranch Winery 13 years ago. Yes, it is a working winery with very nice grounds. The ranch has some sort of historical significance(can't rememeber what). Back then only the pineapple wine was somewhat good. I hope the others have improved since then. First thing that morning we had visited Haleakala, upcountry Maui, then the Ulapalakua Ranch. Made a nice day trip. If you are going up to Haleakala or upcountry Maui, the winery would fit in well.
Good luck,
Michelle

We visited the winery last week. The drive and the views of the island are lovely. The grounds of the winery are very pleasant and make a good picnic stop.
I'm not a wine drinker but my wife bought two bottles of the pineapple wine. They give generous tastings, I ended up with a bottle of the pineapple sparkling wine
