Maui-Condo Questions
We are going to Maui this winter and I am looking at condos. Our only requirement is that it is on a good beach. We have looked at both the Whaler and Polo Beach Club. These two properties are a much higher $$ then others. Does the location make the price worth it?
Are there any condo's/houses that have a great beach location that anyone can reccomend?

Any of the condos on Napili Bay have a great beachfront. Napili is a mostly calm/swimmable beach that can have great snorkeling. I have not been there in the winter however. Napili Kai Beach Club, The Mauian, Napili Shores and Naplil Bay are some the condos located there. The Whaler's location on Kaanapli is very good, but you are in the thick of things in Kaanapali, which for some people is a good thing and for others is not. You may also want to check out My Wai (sp?) cottage in Kihei. I have seen positive remarks about it in the past. If I go back to Maui, I'd like to stay at the Makena Surf condos. Pricey, but I've heard they are worth it. Good luck in your search.

I also second Napili Bay. If I may add one more condo to the list, it's Napili Sunset. www.napilisunset.com

Try the website VRBO, vacation rentals by owners, you should be able to find listing for almost any condo on Maui, and generally significantl less expensive than going through a leasing agent. Most have good pictures of the beaches and surrounding area as well as the inside of the condo itself

No you haven't waited to long, I just changeod my reservations from Kaanapali to Napili. I orginally booked at the Whaler, but decided we wanted a quieter area. We have changed to the Napili Kai Resort. Also I heard good things about the Mauian and Hale Napili. You can find several condos at the Napili Shores on VBRO.....We're going in Sept, can't wait.

Again, thanks for all the advice. We are a group of five adults so we needed a three bedroom at minimum. We couldn't find anything in Maui remotely close to our budget that was still available so we are heading over to the Poipu area of Kauai where we have found a house near the beach.
Thanks for all the great suggestions!

Kirby, Royal Kahana is in a well developed area with stores etc. "Maui Revealed" makes comments about seasonal seaweed problems. In general that area hasn't the best beach (bit narrow) but I've stayed around Kahana area quite happily for three trips ! I'm sure they'll have a great time.

I HIGHLY recommend the Polo Beach Club!! We were just there in May and couldn't believe how incredible it was. There is a private beach (key access) that to us made the extra dollars spent to stay there well worth if! Of course, people could venture onto our beach from adjacent beaches but they had to go through rocks and water to get there! Most didn't bother. There were only about 3 other groups/families that we had to "share" the beach with the entire time. Incredible!!
If privacy, peace and quiet are what you're looking for, Polo Beach Club is WELL WORTH the money. I will be happy to give you the name of our "landlords" (private rental found on VRBO), who were wonderful to work with. In fact, we've already booked our next year's trip with them. Their condo was absolutely wonderful.

Could you tell me what unit number you stayed in at Polo Beach Club? Also, I would be interested in contacting your landlord. Would you prefer to post their contact info on this site or e-mail me directly? Thanks for the assistance.

I'm sure they wouldn't mind if I posted their link, since I found them online anyway. This condo is really gorgeous and I highly recommend it as you can tell from my previous post!
Hope you can make it work - they are wonderful people. Their web page is: http://mauirentalproperty.com/index.html
