CJ, I've stayed at the Napili Point condos; a different complex but in the same area. We had some of the best snorkeling right in the bay. I also have stayed in Ka'anapali and Wailea, and I still love Napili. I took a quick detour there on my trip to Maui last month and decided that's where I will want to stay if and when I get back to Maui. It looks just like it did when we stayed there 15 years ago. It is very quiet and relaxing -- all low-rise condos/hotels.
If you want to see what Napili Bay looks like, here's a picture from my webshots album (this is from last month):

We didn't stay there but swam in the bay several times last summer. It is great! One of our favorite restaurants is the Sea House Restaurant attached to the condo complex. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a casual outdoor-eating patio where you can dine in your beach coverup. If you are a resident of the condos, you can also get drinks and food from a snack bar adjacent to the beach.

Oh, nice webcam. As the temperature drops here in Chicago, I'm longing to be back there....
CJ, it's been 15 years since I swam there, so hopefully others can chime in. I discussed with my husband, and we don't recall it being overly steep or that the water gets deep too quickly. We snorkeled out in the bay, and also around the other side of the point at the far end of my picture (which is where our condo was). My photo was taken from the deck at the hotel on north side of the bay and it is looking down a bit; perhaps the perspective distorts the depth a bit???

Hi CJ -
We've visited Maui many times, and we're always drawn back to Napili Bay. We've stayed at the Mauian, Hale Napili, Napili Village, Napili Sunset, and The Napili Bay.
The beach at Napili is gorgeous, and it's a great place to snorkel, sunbathe or swim.
The Napili Bay condos are very nice, especially if you snag one of the oceanfront units. They are individually owned, and can vary dramatically in decor, so take care if booking directly with an owner.
We rented from an owner and were a bit disappointed in our particular unit - it was more of a bachelor pad - dark and in need of an overhaul, but we got what we paid for.
While there, I checked out several of the other units and took notes on the ones I liked for future reference.
I'd suggest selecting an oceanfront or ocean view unit in the front building. There are a few very nice units in the back building as well, most having been recently remodeled.
You might want to take a look at www.alohacondos.com for a break down of units and amentities.
Have a great trip.
Should you have more questions, feel free to contact me at [email protected].
Aloha!

Thanks so much everyone! You've sealed it! I will be staying at Napili Bay. We've already booked it. Also, that web can is great. I've watched the sun go down a couple times now and can't wait to see it in person!
