Which are the best Napili Bay condos
Okay, we have given up on finding a house to rent, and want to stay in the Napili Bay area.We are two professional couples, wanting to be ON a good beach, in a 4 or 5 star type property, with good pool, and hopefully not too many kids around(going first of November for 2 weeks, so that shouldn't be a problem) Which are the newest, nicest, buildings on the best beach? Thanks in advance for your help.

We are leaving for Maui tomorrow and will be spending 6 nights at Napili Kai Beach Resort. I will let you know when I get back what I thought of it. I will probably take a look at the other Condo on Napili Bay as well. I won't be back until Oct. 11th.

You may want to look elsewhere. Napili Bay is beautiful, with great views of Lana`i and Moloka`i. The snorkeling can be very good. However, every buildable inch has a tourist accommodation on it. They all appear to be older and modest, including pools, and parking is tight. And, in November, the waves may make swimming impossible. It's one continuous beach. Try napilibay.com for a webcam preview.

Napili Bay may not have 5 star accomodations, but, oh, does it have 5 a 5 star beach. The views are amazing.
One older condo that is very nice is Napili Sunset. And older, by no means means dumpy. Website:www.napilisunset.com
If you find Napili Bay dosen't suit your fancy, try up the road a little bit at Kapalua. Very beautiful.

November is the start of the Hawaiian winter. With that often come rains, wind and rough water, especially on the western and northern sides of the islands, including Maui. We visited Napili last November and virtually no one was in the water--too rough.
If you have your heart set on good snorkeling in front of your condo do not stay in Napili or Kapalua. Look south to Wailea or Makena. Or go another time. And, have a great trip.

I've spent quite a bit of time in the Napili area. There are no 5 star properties there. However, we spent a week at the Kapalua Bay Villas during July. It is less than five minutes by car north of Napili, between the Ritz Carlton and the Kapalua Bay Hotel. These condos were awesome, five star, ocean front with a small beautiful empty beach below the property (situated on small cliffs) and quiet swimming pools. We rented our 2 bedroom through VRBO (Vacation Rentals By Owner). Snorkeling is iffy at that beach. Also, Coconut Grove, if you can find a unit for rent, are gated condos south of the Villas. Looks 5 star plus a few more.
For really incredible snorkeling, Honokeana Cove is the place - about a 5-10 minute walk south of Napili Bay. There are condos there called Honokeana Cove, but they are often booked a year in advance. I've stayed there twice, and it ocean front, but no beach (rocks), and a small pool. There are turtles everywhere in the bay! Honokeana Cove is about 2 stars, 1970's looking,no air conditioning, but some of the units have been nicely remodeled. We stayed in #214 (2 bed/2 bath), remodeled last year. There are also nice houses for rent on the south end of Honokeana Cove, starting at $650/night.
