FYI - for those coming to New York - the upper east and west sides are not the sme as upper Manhattan. Upper Manhattan is a series of residential neighborhoods at the far tip of the island - north of Harlem - and rarely visited by tourists - unless they happen to go to the Cloisters.
The upper east and west sides are immediately north of midtown - and south of harlem - are dividied down the middle by Central Park - and are major museum, shopping and restaurant territory.

There's Gray's Papaya with 3 locations
Broadway and 72 (upper west side)
8th ave & 37th (just north of Penn station and just south of Times Square)
6th ave and 8th st (the village)
There's also Papaya King (which I find just as good) on 86th 3rd ave. and one in Harlem.
