There is one on the upper west side. I was there in April and the front was covered by construction materials and very hard to find. Great hotdogs worth looking for!

I can think of 3 locations. On the upper west side on Broadway and 72nd St, in the Village on 6th near NYU and on 8th Ave around 38th St.

Have a great time while you are in NYC!!

FYI - for those coming to New York - the upper east and west sides are not the sme as upper Manhattan. Upper Manhattan is a series of residential neighborhoods at the far tip of the island - north of Harlem - and rarely visited by tourists - unless they happen to go to the Cloisters.

The upper east and west sides are immediately north of midtown - and south of harlem - are dividied down the middle by Central Park - and are major museum, shopping and restaurant territory.

.

It's called Grey's Papaya, or maybe it's Gray's.

I believe the one near NYU is on 6th Avenue at 8th street.

Best $1.25 I've ever spent -- enjoy!

There's Gray's Papaya with 3 locations
Broadway and 72 (upper west side)
8th ave & 37th (just north of Penn station and just south of Times Square)
6th ave and 8th st (the village)

There's also Papaya King (which I find just as good) on 86th 3rd ave. and one in Harlem.

That should read 86TH AND 3rd ave. for Papaya King.
