Looking for a resort...
My husband and I are looking for a place to go away for a week or so. In the Finger Lakes or Adirondacks.
We are thinking of a resort, with a pool, and no need to do much. We'd like to be able to eat on the premises, have a glass of wine, but also be able to walk/drive to other places.
And $150 or so is ideal per night.
Any hope or advice?

When are you going? Have you been tot eh Adirondacks before? They don't really have a good selection of resorts LOL. Lots of people like Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid though...The only other two that come to mind are the Sagamore and The Point. I wouldn't personally recommend either one though.

None of the places that liwl mentions have rates anywhere near $150 per night. The Point is over $1000 per night (all inclusive, of course
)
When are you planning your trip? For much of the summer (and fall weekends) $150 per night will barely get a simple hotel room let alone anything vaguely resortlike...

That area has few resosrts - most is given over to the more camping, cabin and relaxing family crowd. And the few "resorts" - such as the Sagamore - which is primarily adult - but on an island in Lake George has rates several multiples of that.
In high season $150 will barely get you a small room at a mom and pop motel.
