Ok, I usually would not recommend anything related to Rachel Ray from the food network, but she did do a $40-a-day segment on the Keys:

Maybe you'll be able to find something helpful from there.

Sandy's Cafe on White Street. Great little Cuban carryout with Cuban sandwiches to die for.

El Siboney for Cuban. Uppercrust for pizza. Mangia Mangia has reasonable pasta. The restaurants down by the docks generally aren't terribly expensive. Pepe's is reasonable. Finnegan's Wake has very good burgers. Jean

About a month ago, the Clintons visited Key West. An order was placed with the Paradise Cafe for some Island Legend Monster sandwiches to feed the Secret Service. They got an extra sandwich. It was put in the refrigerator, where the head sandwich-man himself found it. The word came back that he was quite pleased with it!

The Cafe is at 1000 Eaton St and does a serious locals' trade. When I'm in town, it's my morning stop for a con leche, cuban toast and to read the Citizen. I've had worse morning habits....

Load up on coupon flyers from the airport boards. Free drinks and appetizers abound. Also 2 for 1 deals.
