Salem Massachussets tour

Is this something worth while? Does anyone have any ideas on what tour, etc.?

If witchcraft fascinates you. I personally wouldn't bother with it. There are many better places to tour in the Boston area than that. Such as Concord, Newburyport, Rockport, Gloucester, Plymouth, Cape Cod, Plum Island, Maine coast, Portsmouth, NH, Newport, RI, etc.

Thanks that answers my question.

All the things I have seen on Boston, I have seen hardly anything on Salem.

I concur! Salem is nothing to get excited about, especially the Witch Museum. I was totally disappointed when I went out of my way to go there several years ago.

I disagree. The highlight of our New England trip was the Essex-Peabody Museum. That Chineese house alone was worth the admission. From the Museum we could walk to the waterfront.

I loved Salem and think it's definitely worth the trip.

I love Salem, especially in October. Rich in witchcraft and pirate attractions. The House of Seven Gables, which inspired Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel, is not to be missed.

Salem in October, during Haunted Happenings, is a lot of fun, especially with kids. I wouldn't go for more than a couple of days, but its a fun, if very contrived, experience. Kind of like the flip side of Disney.

We in Boston/Cambridge wish the Peabody-Esex Museum was here.
