Kauai in November-snorkeling?

I'll be in Kauai during the 2nd week of November, staying in Poipu. I understand the weather is still nice, but what is the water temperature like? Will I need a wetsuit for snorkeling? Or will the seas be too rough to go out? thanks...

Mira,
We usually go over from Dec/Jan but have gone in Novemeber before.

I've never had to wear a wet suit but the better half does the "chilly-shake" when she treads in up to here knees, so...
The Poipu area is normally nice in the winter months. Steer clear of NoShore snorkeling during the winter unless you are really experienced just to be safe.
Surf kicks up a bit in the winter on that side.

Lydgate and Salt Pond provides some protective walls for snorkeling and the beach near The Beach House restaurant in Poipu is small but offers "good snork".
Good luck,
Kal

We've been several times over Xmas and had no problem snorkeling without wet suits. Small beach near Sheraton or take Capt. Andy's or one of the catamarans that offers snorkeling.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions...this will be my first time snorkeling (and my first time to Hawaii!), but the friends I'm going with have done it many times. So I'll probably stick to the south beaches for snorkeling. And I'll bring a wetsuit top, just in case.
