JFK Museum
Coming to Boston for BU Parent's Weekend next week and considering getting to JFK museum on my own on Friday during the day. I see that you can use public transportation, but is that the best way to go? I will be staying in the Back Bay. Very interested in the new Jacqueline Kennedy exhibit-has anyone seen it?

www.jfklibrary.org have instructions. Take red line T to UMass/JFK and then free shuttle.
From most areas in Back Bay, take the Green Line to Park Street to switch to the Red Line.

Thanks so much for info. I had heard that it was a crazy weekend, so I "Open Tabled" the weekend with reservations. I figure we can always change, but at least we have a plan. Now to find roomy clothes to expand for all the good eating!

I haven't seen the new Jackie Kennedy exhibit but I did see one a few years ago. I hope the new one is as good. There was an exhibit of different outfits she wore to different events, each one carefully chosen with regard to the country and people she was visiting. Can you imagine riding an elephant in haute couture! I didn't realize Jackie's clothes were part of politics and were chosen for her. Never knew that Kruschev was smitten by her and how she graciously shared the spotlight with Mrs. Kruschev when they greeted the public. There was also a poignant note Jackie wrote when she was still in school about her future. Her life didn't turn out the way she had hoped it would.

I do enjoy the museum, I think anyone who enjoys 20th century hortory or the Kennedys will like it.
The JFK also has a nice view of the water. Take some time to check it out.
The cafe is small, it is not particularly pleasant to eat it in.
If you are taking public transit I would advise using a credit card to purchase a Charlie ticket. I think it is 1.75 per ride. You can get them at the stations.

Thanks to everyone who posted here. Just to let you know I had a wonderful time at the museum and recommend highly. Did take the T/Bus combo and it was very straightforward. The exhibit had just enough of everything to interest a wide audience in my opinion. My favorite parts were the many handwritten notes from Jackie re: State dinner plans. Also, sitting to watch JFK's Dem Convention Acceptance speech in its entirety. Enjoy!
