BOSTON: Wyndham to JFK Library?
Hello Boston experts, I've done a search but can anyone tell me approx. how long it will take to get from the Wyndham Boston Hotel (the one in the financial district) to the JFK Library? We won't have a car, so what is the best way to get there?
Also, would it make more sense to combine a morning at JFK with an afternoon tour of Boston U or an afternoon strolling the Fanuil Hall area?
Thanks for all replies.

You can easily walk from the hotel to South Station. Take the Red Line to the JFK stop. Take #8 Harbor Pt/UMass bus. Check out mbta.com for more specifics. Shouldn't be more than 35 minutes all together.
Doing either Faniuel Hall would be very easy in the afternoon as your hotel is only 2 blocks away. but heading towad BU is not bad either. Just less convenient. You'll need to take the Green Line from either Park St or Government Center.

Regarding Aquarium - don't know how long you will have in Boston - but it is not on my top list of things to do, especially with older teens. It is an average aquarium - same fish can be seen almost anywhere. Might be a good back-up plan if it rains, though.

Tours serve different purposes. I think Duck tour is definitely more fun - but it is short and does not give as much of an overview of the city. I found the jokes slightly less corny on Duck Tour than Old Towne Trolley - but I have heard that depends on guide.
If the teens are girls they will like strolling shops at Faneuil Hall area. Fenway Park tours are fun - but that depends on time of year you are coming - since it is right near BU, it could be convenient. Wandering North End and picking Italian restaurant might appeal to them.

Hi Gail, thanks for the added information. Would you suggest both the Duck tour and the Trolley tour, or would that be overkill? Sounds like they visit (or pass by) different places. Yes, we will wander and shop those areas also, and we'd like to take in a game if we can get tickets. This is a trip for next spring so I hope we'll have time to find them(tickets).
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

I recommend the Museum of Science over the Aquarium. Two tours may be overkill as you can easily walk around lots of different places and stop when you find something interesting. Also the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is a good take. A harbor tour can be fun if it's not too cold. Castle Island is a cool place to spend an idle afternoon. Hope you have fun!
