$4.99 some times sales. Paid $7.00 a case which was a bargain. But no deposits. I buy it in Carr's or Walmart- usually. Sometimes Fred Meyer. In smaller areas- look at expiration dates. I had to go through a whole rack once and ended up buying a 2 liter which was the only product left within the expiration date.

Sorry, duh, but I still don't get. Am I missing something?
And, you certainly can't be serious with your last message!
But now, you got me curious again: What does the price of coke tell you about Alaska...other than perhaps a clue to the cost of living there?

I don't drink coke or any soft drinks so I have no idea but like anywhere else, any product will have different prices in different stores. There are plenty of supermarkets in Alaska.
I agree 100% with Howard. What does the price of coke tell you about Alaska???

O.K., I'll bite. Is this a joke, or are you serious? I thought you were serious until the "gotch ya" remark to Howard.
I didn't find the question unusual, because I used to travel with a friend who would always have to stop as soon as we arrived at our destination and buy a 6-pack of Coke to take to the hotel. (I don't think carbonated drinks travel too well in a suitcase.)
Regarding the price, if coke is $4.99 a 12-pack in Alaska, that tells me that groceries are high. In Texas, if I can't find it on sale for $2.99 (or less), I buy Pepsi instead.
