As our trip is nearing..... I have visited this thread again to do final planning. Is there a way to find out if I am flying in to the South or North terminal at Gatwick. And which of the 5 terminals we will fly out of at LHR?? I used Hotwire and got a 4* for 100 USD. It was my first hotwire experience talk about a rush.

What airline, to/from where, and when?

The airlines' and the airports' site will have info, or you can ask here.

LGW North and South aren't far apart, and are linked with a frequent train. It's really a non-issue.

kmadsen - BA uses South Terminal at LGW.

Over at LHR, they're moving most of the flights to the new Terminal 5. It's behind schedule for the move, but by 7/1, most should be. Some flights, however, will remain at Terminal 3 (Australia, Singapore, Bangkok).

Here are the current BA status:

where are you flying to from LHR?

there are a lot of new hotels near Heathrow on Bath Road, all will be served by the hoppa bus - ranging from budget (www.premierinn.com or www.ibishotel.com) to more luxurious.

rkkwan now you are making me nervous I have heard the horror stories about the new "terminal 5". Do you really think they will have it cleaned up by 7/1??

At least this is the end of our journey. So if they lose my luggage Oh Well. Just kidding.

Just saw your pictures from your OKC trip very nice photography.

The longhauls are supposed to switch at the end of April. But a few days ago, BA announced that because of the mess with the opening, they won't start moving those flights until June. That's why I said you should be using T5, but who knows what may happen...

could be either terminal 4 or 5 - at the moment they're talking about switching the remaining flights to T5 in June.

Boyfriend also recommends the 'Plane Food' restaurant at T5 if you need to eat!

We are going to take the National Express Airport Coach. From LGW to LHR. Is this something we purchase ahead of time or is it easier to just purchase a ticket when you arrive. I went to the link offered in a earlier response from Charlene29. Purchasing is an easy process. I am just not sure how much time to allow to go through customs and pick up our luggage before we catch the bus.
