Flying out of LGW...Is that Heathrow?

Hi,

Is the LGW airport in London the Heathrow airport?

no, it is gatwick. Heathrow is LHR.

LGW is Gatwick airport in London. LHR is Heathrow.

FYI, If you're coming to/from the U.S. on an American carrier, you'll likely fly out of Gatwick. Only American and United serve Heathrow. All the others (Continental, USAirways, Northwest, Delta and maybe others) serve LGW.

I prefer Gatwick to Heathrow. Less congested (although still busy) and the Gatwick Express train is a quick easy way to get into central London.
