I have to take a taxi between JFK and 59 W 46 st, during th day in a working day.
Is the flat fare $52, plus toll and tip?
We are two, do you think this is the best option >?

If you have time and do not mind schlepping your luggage you can either take the subway or the LIRR to Airtrain.

You could take a a commerical bus from Port Authority

You could also get a car service which might be a few dollars less (look at Dial 7 or Carmel web site for discount coupons). BUT I've found that finding the driver and then trekking out to the parking lot with luggage - or waiting while the driver circles around - can be a PIA and not worth saving a few $.

We always take a cab from JFK to the city BUT a car service from the city to the airport to avoid looking for a cab in the street.

thank you nytraveler, good advice to combine both services the taxi going into town and Carmel going back to the AirPort.
Do you know if flat fare includes luggage fees or if it is extra, ? My grand daughter is joining us from college and I would like let her know what to expect.

Flat fare includes luggage. However, if someone comes in with a ton of luggage for the driver to haul around I would give a larger tip.

Frankly I find the JFK flat fee quiet reasonable , I cannot be a huge difference from a taxi to La Guardia or is it?
Are they trying to divert more pax to JFK flying within the U.S.?

May the noise factor over Queens is a factor, a friend tells me that the noise is kind of unberable.

Unless there is very heavy traffic the fare from LGA to most of Manhattan is way less than the fare from JFK. And not - there is no plot to divert passengers to JFK. JFL is international, but LGA is not and usually shorter routes since the runways are shorter and the biggest planes can't land there.

And both airports are probably way above any reasonable number of flights/passengers.
