Favorite Museum Shops?

Hi everyone,

I would love to get the opinions of fellow travelers on some of the best museum/institution shops they have discovered on their travels. I'm particularly interested in NY as I gear up for a future trip but would love to compile a list of favorite shops throughout the US

Thanks everyone -
S

If you just google the major museums you can see much of what the shopshve to offer.

Met is unusul in that it has several branches of the shops outside the museum. I often do a lot of Christmas ahopping there.

The shop on the ground floor of the Museum of Arts & Design Columbus Circle is excellent.

Neue Galerie - would love to own everything it has in its shop.

Except that I can't afford anything there.

Definitely the gift shop at MOMA (Museum of Modern Art). Most cool museum shop ever.

Tenement Museum, Museum of the City of NY AND the NY Historical Society all have excellent shops (NY Hist is open even while the museum is closed.

The Frick shop is small but well curated. The Schomburg Library shop is also wonderful.

I agree with the above and will add two more for NYC: the museum shop of the Morgan Library as well as the gift shop at the 42nd Street/Fifth Avenue branch of the New York Public Library.
