The orchestra seats are 2nd row while the mezzanine is the rear mezzazine since the front mezz only has 5 rows. I'd much prefer 2nd row, but many people would not.

Not sure when you are going, but www.playbill.com also has announced discounts for "Company" you might want to check it out and compare

I saw this show 3 weeks ago and cannot recommend it. The stage was stark. There was a black piano with a glass vase on it, a white column, some glass cubes and a rolling bar cart. The cast all wore black and were on stage whether they were part of the scene or not. There was no orchestra. When it was time for a musical number, the cast sang and played instruments. Just weird!

As a rule, I prefer not to be *too close* to the stage because you can't get the entire "picture" of the stage. So, I would probably prefer the mezz seats.

Eim -- I believe the staging is similar to that of "Sweeney Todd" from last season. It was unusual, but highly effective, I thought.

John Doyle's productions (of which I've now seen three -- Sweeney Todd, Mack and Mabel in London, and this Company) are a little different, but should hardly be categorized as anything other than good theatre BECAUSE of the staging. No, it isn't 42nd Street or Hairspray and may not appeal to everyone!

I'd opt for the second row. It's a bit close, but you'll really enjoy the subtleties of the perfomers in this production more from there, than 7 rows back in the mezzanine.

And while I often agree with lisettemac's comment about the "picture" of the stage, particularly for big shows, this is a show that would actually play equally well in the round -- close range is perfect for it -- as it really isn't about the "picture" at all in this case.

I also recommend that you take the second row seats, if it's not too late.
And, just want to say that I agree 100% with everything NeoPatrick said.
I liked this production very much - great score, some excellent performances, loved the set. Just don't go expecting a big frothy musical.
