We have great sunset pictures from all over the island, however, our favorite sunset with dinner was at Mama's Fish House and the food was good as well. The sun sets over the rocks to the left of the restaurant as you look out to sea, so the colors just spread over the water. It is on a more isolated beach then anything in Kanapali. We also did a sunset cruise on the Kiele V catamaran, the boat that left from the Kanapali Hyatt. This was great from the water and then we ate somewhere nondescript in Whaler's village (Hula Grill I think). Pacific O is a great suggestion. We stayed in a house in Wailea and enjoyed the sunsets at Keawakapu Beach. For my MIL's birthday we arranged for Tableside chefs to do a dinner on the beach here for my In-laws, very romantic, but very expensive.

I agree with crazy4Hawaii, Nick's Fishmarket was the best!

One of my fabulous meals prepared on the grill of our Makena condo - can't beat it...ask my family.

Our vote is Leilani's in the Whaler Village -- and the Hula Pie jcasale was mentioning above is found there and is "to die for" and is free at Leilani's if you have a coupon from your hotel! And big enough to split! Great food and service and reasonable.

HEre is another vote for Pacific O's. A table just steps away from the sand... what more could you want??? The Bling-Bling is incredible, as is the rack of lamb.

Sarento's (south Maui), or Pacific'O (west Maui). I think Sarento's has a nicer beach but Pacific'0 has a better menu. Either one, you won't be disappointed.

I'm guessing the original poster has dined by now.

Sure, but we're asked these questions constantly so the suggestions are definitely helpful.

The best sunset dinner we had in Maui was at the Humuhumunukunukuapuaa, or Humu Humu for short. It's located at the Grand Wailea Resort. The restaurant is set over a salt-water pond with tropical fish. Make reservatations for around 5:45 and you can get a table by the edge where the sunset view is amazing! The food and service were very good too. They had musicians strolling around the tables for that wonderful Hawaiian ambiance!

For a less expensive, more casual dinner, but GREAT sunset view, we recommend the Kulu Grill (poolside) at the Wailea Marriott Resort. They have a sunset show of soft Hawaiian music and hula.

Ferraro's at the 4 Seasons Maui because it's outside under the stars, overlooks the bay, live guitar music and fabulous Italian cuisine with an island touch. Very romantic.
