Best Hotel?

I am looking for an inexpensive hotel or B&B in Charleston that is well located for walking to the city sights. I do not need fancy, but I do like basic ammenities and very clean. Both Hampton Inn and Best Western have been recommended. Is there any difference between the two? or are there any other recommendations?

I suggest you check the rates on their Web sites. When I made my reservation a few weeks ago, The Hampton Inn was offering a special weekday rate of $107. This is an incredible rate when compared to what other hotels in the area charge.

The Best Western King Charles Inn is an excellent hotel and is very above the basic amenities. In fact, the Best Western name is the only mid scale thing about the hotel.

Less expensive is the Andrew Pinckney Inn.

Hampton Inn has a lousy location.

Thanks for the info. Sounds as though the Best Western is it.

I stayed at the Best Western last year and was very pleased with the hotel and service. Make sure to request a room away from the elevator, though. We were awakened the first night several times due to elevator noise. The next morning I asked to be moved and the staff was very accomodating.

Also, you can't beat the free parking and pool.
